Typical Tuesday

Tuesday, May 27

Little Birdy is getting so big and brave.  She has no fear and likes to go exploring, especially if there are other kids nearby.

I love this park |Oxnard Beach Park| because we get to feel the sand between our toes after we're done with the playground. California living is growing on me.

First Steps

Monday, May 26

Our girl decided to start walking today! She has been walking along furniture and walls for months now but today she decided she could do it all by herself.  I counted 59 steps for her first time. Way to go Tenners!

Berry Picking

Saturday, May 24

My in-laws flew in to visit us for the long Memorial Day weekend. I have been wanting to go pick my own strawberries for a while now so our first adventure was at the strawberry fields.

It was tempting to just buy the pre-picked berries, but we resisted and grabbed our empty bucket and got to work.  Ok, really just John got to work while Cathy and I played with Tenley.

Tenners was eating the berries as fast I could pick them! (It's an all organic farm so I wasn't too concerned.) Once we got home and washed them I understood why. They were the most delicious strawberries I've ever had, they were like candy.

I can't wait for the fall when we can go pick our own tomatoes and squash. We loved this place and I know we'll be back!

Tulip Festival

Saturday, April 19

Spring time in Utah is my favorite. I haven't been able to experience a Utah spring since before Dave and I got married! This year we are still here (gasp!) and it's kind of weird and amazing.  I took Tenley to  the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point with some of the Madsen fam.

Tulips are my new favorite flowers.  I was considering grabbing a bushel while no one was looking. Jk...jk--ing. But, do you blame me?

Springtime Temple Square

Wednesday, April 9

We aren't sure how much longer we will be here in Utah so I'm soaking up all it's goodness while I can.  After doing some shopping at City Creek, we walked over to Temple Square to enjoy all the pretty blooms.

Happy 1st Birthday

Sunday, March 16

This past year has been the best year of our lives.  I knew I would love being a mom, but I could never have imagined the overwhelming amount of love I would have for our baby.  We just think she is the sweetest, most perfect thing to ever come into our lives.

We had a small birthday party for Tenley at our house. All of my family (minus Jake) and all of Dave's family were there to celebrate.

How amazing is that chalkboard sign? And those "Swig" cookies? I wish I could to take the credit, but I'm only that talented in my dreams. My SIL Meg made the yummy cookies and drew the amazing chalkboard art.  It will likely be T's birthday in my house few a few months because I can't get myself to erase it.

I had Dippidee make this smash cake, but she was such a dainty little girl about it and only wanted to lick the frosting. She wouldn't even touch it with her hands!

Time for presents!

Cousin Nash getting caught sneaking his 3rd cupcake.

Birthday's are my favorite day to celebrate. It's your own personal holiday just for you!

Christmas Adam

Monday, December 23

This year for Christmas, Tenley asked Santa for an extension cord (2 if possible), wrapping paper, and mom's iphone.

After visiting Santa, we joined the rest of the state of Utah and went to Temple Square.

It was the perfect way to spend our Christmas Adam.
